The Community West African Dance Class and Healing Circle is a FREE class designed with the holistic health of the community in mind. This class opens with meditation and is followed by 1.5 hours of movement to live West African drumming. The dance is grounded in cultural contexts as we share the origin, purpose, and history of the dance danced and the rhythms played. It is a family friendly environment and all ages are welcomed. It is held weekly at 517 N. Farish St. Jackson, MS. We are fundraising to ensure that cost is not a barrier to participation for anyone! We would like to keep the class free while continuing to support the artists who share their talents with community and to provide contributions to the church that allows us to utilize their facility.
