SIPP Coffeehouse is in works to become a 501(c)(3) nonprofit coffeehouse within the Mississippi Delta town of Greenwood. SIPP Coffeehouse has a mission to employ 16-21 year-olds who are looking at attending or are attending college. We will provide a selection of 6-, 12-, or 18-month internship program(s) to each individual that focuses on high school/GED completion, college or trade school preparation and job skills training. Each student selects their program of choice during the application process. Students are provided with academic support, mentorship and job-skills training. At the completion of their commitment, students are are provided with college scholarships or trade school living stipends.
Pilot program will commence Fall of 2019.
Doors in hopes to open May 2020.
SIPP Coffeehouse is in works of obtaining our 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. We currently are incorporated as a non-profit.
SIPP works to employ 16-21 year olds who are at risk of dropping out of high school, have dropped out and/or are first generation-college students. We aim to provide academic support, job skills training, mentorship and scholarships through these student internships.
This campaign will be the fiscal support for our legal fees, 1020 application (to obtain 501(c)(3) status) and pilot program start-up fees. Our pilot program will begin September 2019-January 2020.
So far we have raised $3,400 in local funds as well as had an espresso machine donated to us for future use.
